What I learned was that the color wheel had a few changes over the years, and Sir Issac Newton developed the first color wheel in 1666. I thought that was incredible and unbelievable.

In the article "Understanding Color" it tells how from the dawn of time people have been using color wheels and color diagrams to mix colors and find out which colors fit better with each other and are more appealing to the eye when they are placed together. Harmonizing color is a huge aspect in technology or art or anything relating to color. On my future project i will be sure to make all of my colors harmonize beautifully in creating a very appealing project including either primary or secondary or tertiary coloring.

I never knew extreme unity leads to under-stimulation and extreme complexity leads to over-stimulation and that harmony is a dynamic equilibrium. I thought it was interesting how complementary colors are opposites. I like how you can give different examples of color types using real life things like fruits and nature.
ReplyDeleteWoode N Period 1
I now understand that colors must be put together in a pattern that isn't chaotic. Each color has a different behavior when in contrast to other colors. In my next and future projects for DIM i will try to keep my colors is what is known as color harmony. Some formulas for harmony are color schemes with tertiary colors, color schemes with complementary colors, and color shcemes from colors found in nature. I want my projects to be pleasing to the eyes of my peers and not boring.

There are categories based on the color wheel; Primary colors (red, blue, red), Secondary colors (green, orange, and purple), and Tertiary colors (blue-green, yellow green, yellow-orange, red-orange, red-purple, and blue-purple).
ReplyDeleteWhile reading this blog i learned about primary colors (the 3 pigment colors that can not be mixed or formed by any combination of other colors), secondary (the colors formed by mixing the primary colors),Tertiary colors (the colors formed by mixing a primary and a secondary colors). This blog is a great way to really get the understanding of colors and the variation of colors.

By reading this I learned about colors and how they can look good together being completley opposite. I think this will help me in my next project because it shows me what colors do and dont work together. It will also help to know if Im using primary secondary or tertiary colors and what type of color scheme it is.

What i learned about colors today is that there are primary colors, secondary colors, and tertiary colors. primary colors consists of: red, yellow, and blue
ReplyDeletethe secondary colors consists of: green, orange, and purple,
and the tertiary colors consists of yellow-orange, red-orange red-purple blue-purple blue-green & yellow-green. Color harmony is something that is pleasing to the eye, it rngages you into the image, and color context is how an image reacts to other colors and shapes.

There are three major theorys when using colors. The first one is the color wheel. There are three types of color wheels. Primary(red, yellow and blue), secondary(green, orange, and purple) and tertiary(yellow-orange, red-orange, red-purple, blue-purple, blue-green and yellow-green). The second theory is color harmony. Color harmony presents visual interest and a sence of order. The third one is color context, and it is how a color behaves in relation to other different colors and shapes.

I now understand that colors look different on backgrounds of other colors. Like red stands out more on black than on white. In the project I will try to keep this in mind and try to use more Analogous colors like yellow-green, yellow, and yellow-orange. I will also try to use complementary colors like red and green.

Isaac Newton developed the first circular diagram. There are definitions of colors based on the color wheel.
ReplyDeleteI never knew how colors could change but at the same time not when put up against another. The color wheels are very interesting and reveal a great(simple)understanding about how colors work together to make something amazing. It was very interesting to know alot of the colors that we see and made from three simple colors.(Red,Blue,Yellow) I never would have belived that so many colors were made from those three basic if if wasnt layed out in a visual format

ReplyDeleteThere are 3 basic catagories of color that are logican and usefull. The color wheel, harmony and the context of how there used.
The color wheelis a cirlce, based on red, yellow and blue Which are primary colors. Secondary colors are green orange and purrple and Tertiar colors are yellow-orange, red-orange, red-purple, blue-purple, blue grean and yellow-green.
Color harmony can be defined as a pleasing arrangment of music, poetry, color and even ice cream. It's something that is pleasing to the eyes.
Color context is the way colors behave with eachother. like if you have a red square in a black backgroung the red box would look bright, if the red box was on awhite background it would look duller then it did on the black background. With a orange background the red square would look lifeless

Color varies throughout the variety of color wheels and schemes that have been around for many centuries. Many of the things i learned were complementary color and also colors that contarast one another. For The Next project i will use the primary colors to start off with and pick one primary color to use in a secondary as well as a contrasting color of opposite colors that harmonize and bring together an image and add depth to the variety of colors.

ReplyDeleteDifferent colors mixed with certain colors make the original color look like a different hue, so if I utilize the different color contexts, the end result can pop more and give a more precise idea. Also, by trying to reach color harmony, my end result will be more pleasing to the eye, and therefore more pleasing to the viewer.

I never knew there was a color wheel! I think Color harmony is intresting and its helpful when you don't know what colors to use. Isaac Newton Created the first color wheel back in 1666. Colors are used in more ways than anyone could think of and especially the harmony of them make them stand out against other colors on other colors like the red square. The primary colors are Red, Yellow, and Blue which leads into the secondary which also leads into the teriary. I am going to blend my colors togeather on my next project and make them stand out so my project stands out than the rest. So its the one you want to put a 100 on.

Colors used to be just simple: reds, yellows, blues, that sort of thing. But now, there's a whole system to how each color is actually based on another color. There are also different ways colors contrast eachother and stand out in different colors and shades. All colors weren't just there, they were created based on other colors and the surroundings of artists and scientists such as Sir Isaac Newton.
